Notice on FaceStation F2 v1.x.x Firmware Support Discontinuation

Starting with BioStar 2 v2.9.7, we have enhanced synchronization performance by modifying the process to transmit templates exclusively when synchronizing a user's visual face to the device.

Given the differences in visual face algorithms, FaceStation F2 v1.x.x won't sync well with the new BioStar 2. Therefore, we've decided to end support for FaceStation F2 v1.x.x from BioStar 2 v2.9.7 onward.

If you are currently using FaceStation F2 v1.x.x firmware, kindly upgrade your FaceStation F2 to the latest firmware to utilize BioStar 2 v2.9.7.

The latest firmware can be downloaded from the Suprema Download Center.

New Features and Improvements​

  1. Added Master Admin feature to enhance device security and prevent unauthorized access and configuration changes.

  2. Supports SL1, SL3, and SL1/SL3 Mix Mode for security level compatibility with MIFARE Plus EV1 cards.

    • SL1: Compatible mode with MIFARE Classic
    • SL3: Advanced security mode based on AES

  3. Updated Open JDK version.

  4. Added CoreStation 20 and Door Interface 24 device-related events to the Settings → Alert menu.

Bug Fixes​

  1. Cards could not be printed when custom field settings were configured for user accounts. Affects version: 2.9.9

  2. An error occurs when accessing the device detail page after applying certain custom smart card layouts. Affects version: 2.9.6

  3. Users with mobile cards issued in the Regular site environment cannot access the user detail page after exporting to CSV, deleting the users, and reimporting them. Affects version: 2.9.10

  4. Template on Mobile settings do not appear on the device detail page for devices that support the Template on Mobile feature but do not support Template on Mobile enrollment. Affects version: 2.9.9
